Two puppies

I read all the time, online at least, about getting two puppies is bad for a household itself. That it can't usually be done...but I believe it can. It's just the amount of discipline really. Plus, our puppy (Boba) is pretty mellow.

We got him the last week of January, and considered the following names for him: Brian, Luke, Boba, and I think it was Taro...I can't remember the last one. Me and my boyfriend stayed up most of the night thinking about it, but we slept on it and decided that "I guess his name will be Boba!" and it stuck. Now that I look at him, it fits him. Boba is that tapioca pearl in the bottom of a milk tea (asian thing), and also Boba Fett from Star Wars. It was half/half on the name lol.

Well he's mellow, then gets hyper when he's excited but that's pretty normal for our puppy. His sister, whom the other roomies own (Jas, short for Jasmine) loves to fight and is very playful.

I was so proud of Boba when he learned sit, shake, and wait in the first two days! Oh yes, and down and up! He was so cute, but now he's about fifteen weeks, turning sixteen weeks tomorrow...and he's grown. Not to a full lab size, but you can tell from his puppy picture when we first got him that he did.

Now Jas is absolutely just as cute as Boba, however she has her puppy coat. Whereas Boba didn't seem to have his puppy coat anymore when we got him (or so I think). So she's pretty soft, like a stuffed animal, while he is just really shiny. She's grown too, I just wish they stopped growing now.

Two puppies in a house can be chaos, especially if you don't have a house and only an apartment. Which is us. Lol. They, the 'experts' say you need to do this and that...but it's really all a matter of who is dominant. We are dominant over our puppy, while the roomies over theirs. Of course, the puppies know when they did something bad, etc and listen to us. They have a time-out corner, haha.

Jas...ah, hold on. Boba just tried biting the towel we left for them. Alright, he's in time-out now. Anyways, Jas and him are so cute! I forget what I'm supposed to type now...man, talk about a one-track mind!

Ah, yes. Jas is a playful puppy. She loves to play, bite, chew...chew...chew his collar off...yes, we've gone through about three collars because she chews them off. Of course, Boba does the same. Caught him the other day too. Sneaky little guy. She learned roll over WAY before he did, because Boba HATED getting on his back. A week or so ago I was persistant with training him to do it and now he finally does. However, he associates treats with: "Oh! I need to roll over to get one!" Or he randomly does it and looks at you: "....where's my treat, mommy?"

Anyways, the moral of this entry, is to at least say when you have two puppies...it's possible. Sure they play a lot, all dogs do when they come across other dogs. Yeah, it's good to seperate them, but it's a matter of dominance. They stop fighting when we tell them to, 70% of the time, but it's getting better. If you are dominant over your dog, well I personally think your set. Don't take my word for it, though. In our household there is two couples and each couple has a dog. So two "mommy" and "daddy"'s, one set for each pup. And they each know who is who.
